he's back

Willwillimonas mike mentioned he might not have left the blogosphere completely, but he's certainly thrown his name into the sphere. bishop willimon is back as the peculiar prophet. now, my critique of his blog was that it was just another place to post his weekly letters to the conference. there was never any actual conversation, which i feel is what is the spirit of the software.

my advice, as a more high profile person blogging, i might hold all comments for approval so as to avoid many rambling or off conversation comments to help keep a manageable conversation. other suggestions, take them or leave them

  • throwing out some new blog only content
  • maybe some simple questions, get a pulse of the community
  • some experiences of meeting various people, censored conversation with hauerwas
  • do some audio blogging of charge conferences (if you go to any)
  • mp3 version of the generic sermon given to parish's

Good stuff. It was good b/c it was Willimon, but it wasn't like reading a blog the first time. Will look forward to seeing how it goes.

I think that it would be better for him to have registered, but unmoderated comments. When would he have or take the time to moderate them?

i'm just thinking of the random comment that has nothing to do with the post it's within. consider that an email. those can be sorted rather easy, you know when someone is on topic. alas, he is probably not the one spending time moderating or posting on the blog anyways. which, is part of the drawback.

Thing is, he could easily have a Ben Witherington-esque blog experience given his stature, but I don't see him interacting the same as Ben does either.

he could have a blog much like bw3. encouraged by what i just noticed on the blog, the subtitle claims a "dialogue" with the bishop.
