our vows
I take you, Erin, to be my wife,
and I promise before God and all who are present here
to be your loving and faithful husband
to join with you and to share all that is to come,
to give and to receive,
to speak and to listen,
to inspire and to respond,
and in all our life together
to be loyal to you with my whole being,
I will serve you with tenderness and respect,
and encourage you to develop God’s gifts in you
as long as we both shall live.
from erin:
I take you, Gavin, to be my husband,
and I promise before God and all who are present here
to be your loving and faithful wife
to join with you and to share all that is to come,
to give and to receive,
to speak and to listen,
to inspire and to respond,
and in all our life together
to be loyal to you with my whole being,
I will serve you with tenderness and respect,
and encourage you to develop God’s gifts in you
as long as we both shall live.
note: i'm so glad the grooms party noticed how erin put on her game face for the vows, that was totally excellent. she went from somewhat teary-eyed to a total gamer, even stood a little taller

Just beautiful! We used those vows, too! Glad you had a wonderful time and glad you're back.

I'm glad you're back - AND I'm glad you're married.

thanks sally, it's good to be back and better to be married.
mary beth, our vows are hybrid of some methodist liturgies, did you do the same thing?

All the best in your latest endeavor!

Yep, we merged the two sets of "contemporary" vows in the BOW, and it's almost the same word-for-word.
I copied this right from our own wedding webpage:
I take you Mary Beth to be my wife, and I promise before God and all who are present here to be your loving and faithful husband from this time onward,
to join with you and share all that is to come,
to give and to receive,
to speak and to listen,
to inspire and to respond,
and in all our life together
to be loyal to you with my whole being.
I will serve you with tenderness and respect,
and encourage you to develop God's gifts in you
as long as we both shall live."

Gavin and Erin,
May God grant peace and prosperity to you as you live and love and grow together.
