monastic retreat
next wednesday through friday i will taking a shortened retreat to Saint Bernards Abbey in cullman alabama. if there is anyone who wants to join or catch up let me know or contact the Abbey. this is one of my fav spots to retreat to as it is not that busy, easy to just drop in, and the monks will allow for almost full access & participation into the monastic life. this trip is a bit last minute as i am taking a friend who is taking a month long sabbatical and wanted me to go with him to the monastery for his first time.
Like I say each time you retreat to a monastary... just don't come back and feel called to become a monk!

cool. i looked at the pictures you have of it... it looks stunningly beautiful.
i definitely didn't know that there was an abbey in cullman, AL.
i have a friend who lives in cullman, so next time i visit her i'll have to make it a point to check it out!
