a viral video i just don't get

Chriscrocker i am currently sitting in panera in h'ville waiting on a mentors meeting to come around. as i am here i am observing some young people from one of the local schools. here in sumner cnty the kids still have freedom to leave the premises if they do not have a class for the block (something my hs wasn't allowed to do). as i was observing i noticed all them huddled around a couple of cell phone screens. i then heard some distinctive sounds that brought to my attention this series of video's put out by this one young person. my youth had shown me some of the videos (the not so offensive ones). they laughed watched over and over then showed others with great excitement.

after watching the selected videos i came away wondering.. was this brilliant and i am just to out of it to get it? what is the point? is that the point that there is no point? why is this so popular and young people want to share? do my youth want this kind of popularity/celebrity? what attempts would they make to get that?
