macarthur on the emerging church

found this radio interview (which someone put to video still shots) interesting as john macarthur takes on some of the emerging church. a quote, and still shot, that i found interesting was something like this, after he was equating a social gospel understanding to say that Jesus refused to create a welfare state.

the emerging church preoccupation to move away from theology. lets move away from those things that relate to eternal life, sin, judgement and talk about fixing the world. (at which point they show a picture of rob bell.. confusing)

I tried to listen to all this to give Dr. MacArthur a chance, but after a few minutes it just sounded like Charlie Brown's mother....whah whah whah whah....

MacArthur: "Jesus came, he said: 'I have come to seek and save the lost...I've come to pursue those who are lost, who are headed for eternal hell..."

I can chapter and verse the first part he attributes to Jesus, but I'm having trouble finding where Jesus said the other part in the canonical gospels... Anybody?

No, Gavin. No, no, no. I've been fooled by you before;) I'm not even gonna watch it. Besides, I'm well versed in johnmacarthurism. No thanks, buddy!

art, would i lead you (and stacie) astray? &:~)

guy, i'm not sure where he says that exactly..

I got as far as Macarthur saying stupid and had to shut it off.
