our great pumpkin

Lanternpumpkin erin & i spent last night prepping our front porch and carving our, starting to be, traditional pumpkin for halloween. this years pumpkin is an old school street lantern. we tried some other designs, but they just didn't fit onto this particular pumpkin. this one was a bit thinner and taller than some other designs probably needed. i salvaged it off our pumpkin patch, someone broke the stem and it had a soft top from rain water.. but now, it is reborn and will light up our front porch in our old historic neighborhood. this years design is more complicated than last years. the tip, go buy a cheap carving kit from the grocery store. the best $3.99 i've spent in a long time. though next year we might go dremel tool, i hear that is the way to go. still not sure about costume.. shall i repeat the last two years?
